The Hamilton Family is a family of 8 from Grafton, Ohio and they need help from Extreme Makeover Home Edition. Please sign this petition to try and help us get EMHE to come and help them finish their home.

This family has been through so much ...... the fire, health complications, and so much more......

On October 30, 2005 shortly after the family left home to go buy the last few Halloween costumes they needed, their home burnt down, they lost everything.

With what insurance money they received and help from many people and businesses in the community they were able to build a new home, but its just the rough frame, while it does have windows, doors, roof and siding, it is enclosed but nothing inside is done. And the septic tank has collapsed.

The house still needs insulation, drywall, electrical, plumbing, heating, cabinets, septic system...everything inside is needed.

They can not finish the house on their own, in a timely manner.

They have a hard time finding anywhere to live due to having 6 children ages 5-15, most people say their rental homes are too small for the family size etc....
They have lived with family, friends, motels. etc.....

One of their children is also Autistic. The moving around so much is very hard on him....and the other children as well.
The children all do well in school and volunteer and help out wherever & whenever needed. The older children volunteer every summer as jr. lifeguards and help teach swim lessons. They are involved in their church, girl scouts, etc...

Due to the fire, the father works of state. Mr. Hamilton is a carpenter and lost all of his tools in the fire, he now travels across the country for work. Mom is left to do everything, and she doesnt mind. She drives back and forth to school at least 8 times a day dropping off and picking up her children. Mom is not healthy/well. She has many health issues and and is having much difficulty walking due to health issues.

No one ever complains, at times the children will ask when can we go home? Mom and some of the children have asthma, many allergies. There are many health issues, esp. with mom.

Legal action is now being taken against the Hamilton family because they did not complete their home in the 1.5 years permitted. The house has just been sitting there for some time now. The fear of not knowing what is going to happen because they can not finish the house quickly is very worrisome to the family.

This family is so loving and caring and has done without for so long, esp the children..... they all need to go 'home'.
This year will be 3 years not at home, its hard esp. the holidays.

EXTREME MAKEOVER HOME EDITION PLEASE come finish the Hamilton Family's home and get them home...
